Attractive Cost of Living

While the cost of living in Canada has grown exponentially, Calgary remains the most affordable city to live in amongst the top largest Canadian metropolitan areas (Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal). There's a reason why so many people have called Alberta, and specifically, Calgary their new home!

Housing Costs: Typical cost for a single family detached dwelling in Calgary ~$650,000 (varies by area), with condos ranging between $300,000 – $400,000.

Utilities: Typical utility cost for a family home ranging between $300-500 per month.

Transportation: Gas is cheaper than other Canadian cities, while public transit is plentiful for ease of getting around.

Taxes: No provincial sales tax on purchases, making it much more affordable (only 5% GST) and no land transfer tax when it comes to transacting in real estate.

Incomes: Calgary employs some of the most technical professions here given it's investment in the energy industry, leading to much higher incomes compared to other cities or provinces in Canada.

Evolving Landscape of Culture

Apart from being the Heart of the West with the world-class Stampede festivities hosted every July, Calgary has been the epicentre of culture, sports, food and music

With the recent completion of the BMO Conference Centre, the city aims to be the core of corporate conferences across the continent providing a landscape for minds to meet at the highest level, and to celebrate connection.

We're now upgrading our iconic Saddledome sports centre to a new events centre to host a variety of events such as sport games, expand the venue for additional performers, along with an entire new district for entertainment to come over the next few years!
